Lois has been a public health researcher based in Baltimore, Maryland. She joins the Population, Health and Place program with experience in large-scale evaluations of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition programs in Africa. She held a research faculty appointment in the Institute for International Programs in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she also received a Master of Science in Public Health. Recently, Lois has been developing curriculum and facilitating workshops on statistical methods for program evaluation in the National Evaluation Platform, which aims to build capacity within the governments of Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, and Tanzania for improved evidence-based decision-making for health policy and program planning.

She is interested in applications of geospatial methods to answer population health questions. She intends on exploring how spatial analyses can augment traditional approaches to public health evaluation.
