Jiawen Fang is a Ph.D. student focusing on sustainable transportation. She is currently working on the social and environmental impacts of innovative technological interruptions such as Amazon Lockers, truck electrification and ride-sharing platforms.

Jiawen Fang's academic journey started at Peking University in China with a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning where she found that spatial analysis was fascinating and helpful. Throughout her academic journey – from undergraduate studies to the Natural Resources Defense Council, UCLA, LA City Council District 11, Brentwood Community, and now the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy – spatial analysis has always provided new ideas and insights. She is pursuing the Spatial Analytics Certificate to learn more about advanced spatial analysis tools for use in her Ph.D. research program.
