Research and Internship experiences offer unique and valuable opportunities to enhance undergraduate studies by gaining real-world experience and problem-solving skills.  This presentation features a panel of three GeoDesign majors: Ben Banet, Robin Franke, and Diana Kim.  Ben conducted research with Prof. Travis Longcore on Beach Light — Measuring Ecological Light Pollution at the Land-Ocean Boundary while Robin and Diana worked as GIS Interns in the Botanical Division at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens.  Panelists will share their 2016 summer experience, program requirements, benefits, and general timelines for engaging in these activities.  This presentation will help inform students interested in gaining research and/or internship experience.
