Douglas Fleming joins the Spatial Sciences Institute from Greenville, South Carolina where he’s worked as a researcher with the Care Coordination Institute since 2013. Prior to that, he served as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Athens Health Network at the University of Georgia where he earned both his Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Behavior and his Master of Public Health with an emphasis on Health Policy and Management. Douglas is currently working with grants from the National Institute of Health, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the Center for Disease Control on issues ranging from tobacco use prevention to obesity and heart disease. His interests lie in the research and improvement of cardiovascular health outcomes and he has experience in performing site suitability analyses for new medical buildings and resources. Douglas has served as co-author on four published articles and has been invited to present posters at a number of conferences.
