Yannis C. Yortsos, Dean of the Viterbi School of Engineering of the University of Southern California, has announced that Dr. Lucio Soibelman has been appointed the new holder of the Fred Champion Estate Chair in Engineering est. 1967. Soibelman is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Spatial Sciences.
This chair was established through the generosity of the estate of the late Fred Champion and the appointment of the chair recognizes exceptional distinction.
Soibelman's research focuses on advanced data acquisition, management, visualization, and mining for the construction and operation of advanced infrastructure systems.
