I studied Environmental Science during my undergraduate study with a second degree in Mathematical Statistics. The USC M.S. in Spatial Data Science program was a perfect program for me, as it combined what I've learnt in the past together with exactly what my current interest are in.
In the Spatial Data Science program, I learnt different algorithms and implementation methods regarding GIS and data science. What is very important nowadays to a GISer is how one can use different technologies to achieve goals quickly in this Big Data world, which our program focuses on. The experience I worked as a research assistant with Beau McDonald gave me a great platform to apply what I have learned into practice and make good preparation for future career.
After graduation, I came back to China and now work as a data analyst and product manager at a GIS commercial company called MapVision in Beijing. The position matches my background well and is exactly what I'd like to devote into in the future.
