John Wilson receives Geomorphometry Life Time Award

The International Society for Geomorphometry has announced that John P. Wilson, Professor and Founding Director of the USC Spatial Sciences Institute, is receiving its 2023 Geomorphometry Lifetime Achievement Award.

The society will recognize Wilson with this award at its 2023 conference from July 10 - 14, in Iasi, Romania.

Past recipients of the Geomorphometry Lifetime Achievement Award include Helena Mitasova with the Center for Geospatial Analytics at NC State University, Peter Guth at the U.S. Naval Academy and Richard Pike with the U.S. Geological Survey.

Wilson's most recent book Environmental Applications of Digital Terrain Modeling is available through the Wiley Online Library.

"I'm humbled by this extraordinary award," said Wilson. "I'm gratified to hear that my work in geomorphometry has been useful to other great scholars and researchers seeking to make new contributions in this area, and I'm honored to be in the company of my distinguished colleagues who have previously received this award," he added.
