This Community Health Equity Solutions (CHES) meeting will introduce the USC GeoHealth Hub. The USC GeoHealth Hub is an open data portal created to encourage collaboration amongst the communities with which USC engages. It also supports these communities by making datasets from different organizations both readily available and downloadable in one place. The Hub seeks to make the process of research and community engagement effective and efficient.
The CHES presenters include Dr. John P. Wilson, CHES PI and Professor and Founding Director of the USC Spatial Sciences Institute; and Dr. Robert O. Vos, CHES Co-PI and Associate Professor (Teaching) of Spatial Sciences. Also participating will be Dr. Lilyana Amezcua, CHES Co-PI and Assistant Professor of Neurology, the Keck School of Medicine of USC; Dr. Iris Chi, CHES Co-PI and Chinese-American Golden Age Association/Frances Wu Chair for the Chinese Elderly at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work; and Dr. Lourdes Baezconde-Garbanati, CHES Co-PI and Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences, Associate Dean for Community Initiatives, and Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement, Institute for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.
In this virtual meeting, participants will discuss with the CHES principal investigators how the Hub could be expanded to serve CHES collaboration and to extend engagement with CHES community partners.
The meeting will include time for small group break-out meetings for CHES members to become better acquainted and to forge new collaboration opportunities.
