History professor and SSI faculty affiliate Philip J. Ethington, recent GIST grad Samuel Krueger and collaborator Adrian Amler produced two videos that are prominently featured in the exhibit Overdrive: L.A. Constructs the Future, 1940–1990 at the J. Paul Getty Museum. The videos cover networks and settlements (an animation of the establish of cities, freeway system, rail system, since the time of native american settlement) and a second highlighting population, economy and conflict. The videos bring together disparate spatial datasets in animations that trace the development of the region through different lenses. Both videos are online. The exhibit runs until July 21 at the Getty Center.
