The University of Southern California Spatial Sciences Institute, located in Los Angeles, California, invites applicants for a full-time teaching-track faculty position in the ranks of lecturer, assistant professor (teaching), associate professor (teaching), professor (teaching), assistant professor of the practice, associate professor of the practice and professor of the practice, for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The Institute, housed in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, provides world-class training for scores of working professionals, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students. Today, it offers a Ph.D. in Population, Health and Place, a Graduate Certificate in Spatial Analytics, an M.S. and three Graduate Certificates in Geographic Information Science and Technology, an M.S. in Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence, an M.S. in Spatial Data Science, an M.S. in Spatial Economics and Data Analysis, a B.S. in Geodesign, a B.S. in Global Geodesign, a Minor in Spatial Studies, a Minor in Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence, a Minor in GIS and Sustainability Science, and several General Education courses.

The successful candidate will have substantive expertise and demonstrated excellence in teaching in the Institute’s core areas of geodesign, geographic information science and place along with the accompanying geospatial technologies, and will be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: geodesign, geographic information science, human security and geospatial intelligence, population, health and place, spatial computing, spatial data science, and spatial economics and data analysis.

Review of candidates continues until the positions are filled. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field at the time of appointment.
