Dr. Darren Ruddell, director of undergraduate studies, has been featured in Time magazine for his views on the need for cities to have a Chief Resilience Officer. Ruddell, who is responsible for the USC GeoDesign major, argues that Los Angeles' investment in preparing for a more resilient city is a good example that other cities should follow. It is, he writes, "the new job every city needs."
