UrisaURISA (Urban and Regional Information Systems Association) has its origins from a conference held on August 28, 1963, on the campus of the University of Southern California, organized by Edgar Horwood. Over 50 years later, the USC Spatial Sciences Institute is proud to be the first educational partner of URISA, now the primary professional development organization for GIS professionals and IT professionals who need to support GIS within their agencies and businesses.

URISA's GIS Management Institute, its Leadership Academy, conferences, and other programs provide exceptional educational experiences, a vibrant and connected community, and the essential resources to the geospatial professional, such as the GISP certification, the URISA salary survey, and jobs posting board.
