Helen Jeon has joined the USC Spatial Sciences Institute as its Office and Events Manager. In this capacity, Helen establishes and coordinates office support; liaises with faculty affairs and other business offices; supports external relations, communications, and grants administration; and leads multiple and concurrent major events management.
Prior to joining the Spatial Sciences Institute in 2018, Helen managed an international relations and scholarship program administered by the State University of New York’s Office of Global Affairs and supported by The Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women. In this capacity, she created and administered programs for student mentorship and internships. She was also a pre-K teacher in Maryland, and a teacher of English as a Second Language in Seoul, Korea. During her time in Korea, she worked with marginalized youth in orphanages through a local NGO.
Helen holds an M.A. in International Educational Development, Concentration in Teaching and Curriculum, from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a B.A., English, Asian American Studies Minor, from the University of Maryland.
She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, and volunteers with Father’s Heart Ministries. She is a technically trained dancer and enjoys watercolor painting and poetry.
