John P. Wilson, USC Spatial Sciences Institute founding director and professor, recently joined Esri co-founder and president, Jack Dangermond for Dangermond's plenary address for the Institute for Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China. Following Dangermond's address on "GIS -- Creating a Smarter World," a panel fielded questions from the assembled audience of Chinese academicians. The panel discussants were (L-R) Feng Lu, professor with the State Key Lab of Resources and Environmental Information System,IGSNRR, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wilson; Dangermond; chief scientist of National Geomatics Center of China; and An-Rong Dang, professor of GIS Lab, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University.

Wilson is a distinguished professor in the IGSNRR at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
